BNJ Granite and Cabinets is a family-owned and operated business founded in 2007 by Van and Lily Luu. Van Luu has been chasing the American Dream from a young age.
Born and raised early on in Vietnam, Van became a refugee at the age of ten and was placed in the foster system in the United States. As a young boy, he was always a hands-on learner, determined to understand how to fix things and innovate new ideas. Once he entered his Junior year of High School, Van enrolled in Boces to learn plumbing and heating.
After two years of trade school, he graduated from Boces with a certification in plumbing and heating. Van even won the award for 2nd place in the annual Boces competition.
Subsequently, he went on to get his degree in plumbing and heating from Delhi college. After college, Van worked in plumbing for over eight years.
Van was inspired to find his industry niche and was passionate about creating his own kitchen and bathroom renovation company. He wanted to run a business that was focused on quality work ethic, and customer relationships, in a way he had never seen before in the industry.
Van and Lily's sons, Brendon and Justin, have also begun working as a part of the family business here at BNJ.
At this time, Van was frustrated with all the issues he was facing with the granite and countertop companies he collaborated with for jobs.
The dependability and quality of work didn’t meet the standards he wanted for his customers, so he went on to learn the trade himself. In the summer of 2007, Van drove to Virginia to learn how to professional fabricate and install granite and quartz countertops.
As a newly trained expert, Van and his wife Lily decided to open up BNJ Granite and Countertops on October 2nd, 2007. The initials BNJ came from the couple’s three sons, Brendon, Nicholas, and Justin. Since 2007, the BNJ team has helped hundreds of homeowners and commercial property owners design their dream kitchens and bathrooms.
